Students will join our professional actors on the beautiful grounds of
Evergreen Museum & Library – 4545 N. Charles Street; Baltimore, MD 21210
During the week they will work with their Directors and Assistant Directors to rehearse a 1 hour version of Taming of the Shrew or Love’s Labour’s Lost. They will then perform the play Friday night, prior to our professional company’s full length version!
Activities throughout the week will help young actors learn:
Self Expression – In our workshops we encourage our young actors to make bold choices and try new things in this safe and fun environment of self-expression!
Teamwork- Our young acting troupe will perform an abbreviated Shakespeare play using teamwork with their new friends
To use their bodies, voices, and imaginations – To create their characters , young actors have to be creative and committed to using their bodies, voices, and imaginations in new ways!
Audience Interaction- That’s right! Just like in Shakespeare’s day, our young actors solve problems and make discoveries by interacting with the audience!
Arts Appreciation- Shakespeare seems daunting to students today, but our trained counselors (all experienced actors themselves) will teach young actors that Shakespeare wants us to play with his words and to appreciate his poetry!
